Malware actors have upped the game in 2020 with a license to kill since the threat landscape has expanded on a rapid scale. The talk will feature the new age stealthy malware, steganographic exfiltration tricks, how threat actors used steganography to embedded payloads, how has the top threat emotet fared in terms of techniques leveraged rich headers, and the rise on new RATs. Do threat actors have an Achilles heel? If yes, what is it?
Shyam Sundar Ramaswami is a Lead Threat Researcher with the Cisco Umbrella Threat Intelligence team. Shyam is a two-time TEDx speaker and a teacher of cybersecurity. Shyam has delivered talks for several conferences such as Black Hat (Las Vegas), Qubit Forensics (Serbia), Nullcon 2020 (Goa), Cisco Live (Barcelona), HackFest (Canada), DeepSec(Vienna) several universities, and IEEE forums in India. Shyam has also taught “Advanced malware attacks and defenses” class in Stanford University’s cybersecurity program and runs a mentoring program called “Being Robin” where he mentors students all over the globe on cybersecurity.
